PARENZANA BIKE TOUR

Introduction

The Parenzana Bike Tour is a cycling route that goes from Muggia to Poreč, crossing Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia.
I took on this ride with my brother and some friends during the Easter holidays.
We didn’t start with the idea of achieving a sports feat; we just wanted to relax for three days, spend some time in nature, and visit new places.

The correct bike

We tackled the route with gravel bikes, which turned out to be perfect for fully enjoying the journey. Most of the trail is on asphalt or packed dirt, with only a few meters of slightly technical singletrack.
Trekking bikes and mountain bikes, even electric ones, can also be used. However, we recommend using fairly wide tires because in the unpaved sections, it’s easy to encounter rocky or slightly rough patches, which would make the ride less enjoyable with thin tires, especially for less experienced riders.
